Meet Jamie
I’ve spent nearly a decade learning how to disappear.
Not literally, but photographically.
My work depends on being trusted inside real moments, the kind that can’t be staged, repeated, or recreated. The quiet gestures. The emotional glances. The unscripted interactions that tell the truth about who you are and how you love each other.
That instinct didn’t start with weddings. It started in a darkroom.
In college, I was a yearbook staff photographer who eventually became the photography editor with the key to the darkroom. I loved watching an image slowly come to life in the developer tray. Even then, what drew me in wasn’t perfection; it was presence. Real expressions. Real connection. Real story.
After graduation, I worked in a traditional portrait studio and quickly realized something important: beautifully lit, perfectly posed portraits didn’t feel like truth to me. They felt stiff. Performative. Disconnected from how people actually are together.
I didn’t know it yet, but I was looking for documentary photography.
When I became a mother, I picked up a camera again and began documenting my own family’s everyday life. That season led me to education and mentorship with documentary photographers and photojournalists who taught me how to tell a story in a single frame — and across a full visual narrative.
That’s when everything clicked.
I believe honesty matters more than polish.
Connection matters more than perfection.
People matter more than performance.
I’m drawn to the small moments most people overlook — the gestures, the humor, the tenderness, the imperfect beauty of real relationships.
What I Believe About Photographs
I care about:
individuality over sameness
presence over posing
childhood wonder and human warmth
the magic hidden inside ordinary moments
photographs that feel like memory, not marketing
Whether it’s a wedding day or a season of family life, I’m looking for the moments that build intimacy and tell the truth.
Because years from now, those are the ones that matter most.
My Approach
My process is personal and high-touch by design.
Everything begins with a conversation. Not a sales pitch — a real conversation about what you value, what you want to remember, and why this season of your life matters to you.
I guide you through the process from start to finish:
thoughtful consultation
clear expectations
helpful preparation guides
calm, steady presence on the day itself
intentional image curation
album and artwork design support
My role is to serve and guide — not pressure or sell. Clients often tell me they’re surprised by how relaxed and natural the experience feels, and how much fun they have along the way.
For wedding couples, I even encourage a gallery “date night” — favorite drinks in hand — so viewing your images feels like an experience, not a task. Album design becomes part of your first anniversary story. Family albums are built with care and collaboration.
Because this isn’t just about delivering photos. It’s about creating something lasting.

I’m based in Manhattan, Kansas, and work with warm, thoughtful couples and families who value authenticity, artistry, and human connection.
If you believe your story is worth preserving — not polishing — we’ll likely be a good fit.
